Community & Professional Partnerships
Bluestem works alongside veterinarians, farriers, agricultural partners, and community agencies to provide responsible care for horses and livestock in need. Through these partnerships, we help ensure animals facing difficult situations have a place to land and a path forward.
Bluestem Equine & Livestock is built on strong relationships within the agricultural and equine community. Our day-to-day work relies on the knowledge and support of local veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and other experienced horsemen who help ensure the animals in our care receive thoughtful, responsible management.
In certain situations, Bluestem may work alongside local law enforcement or community agencies when horses or livestock require immediate placement. We are able to provide temporary housing, evaluation, and stabilization while appropriate next steps are determined, and remain committed to seeing animals through recovery, rehabilitation, responsible placement, and the careful documentation and collaboration needed to support long-term welfare outcomes.
Supporting the local agricultural community is just as important to us. Whenever possible, we purchase hay, feed, and supplies from local hay producers, agricultural co-ops, and regional feed suppliers. These relationships help keep resources within the rural communities that livestock depend on.
By working alongside skilled professionals and trusted local partners, Bluestem helps ensure that when animals fall into difficult situations, there is a place for them to land and a plan to move them forward.
